Ryanair reported a profit after tax of €1.61 billion for FY25, down from €1.92 billion the previous year. Despite a 7% drop in average fares, the airline hit a record 200 million passengers, becoming the first EU airline to reach that milestone in a single year. Revenue rose 4% to €13.95 billion, driven by a 9% increase in traffic. Ancillary revenue (e.g., baggage fees, seat selection) grew 10% to €4.72 billion, helping offset lower ticket prices. Operating costs rose 9%, but cost per passenger remained flat, maintaining Ryanair's cost advantage. The airline now operates 618 aircraft, including 181 B737-8200 "Gamechangers." Delays in Boeing deliveries have capped FY26 growth at 3%, but Ryanair expects delivery to catch up by FY27. They plan to grow to 300 million passengers annually by FY34.



Financially, Ryanair is in a strong position with €4 billion in gross cash, €1.3 billion in net cash, and an unencumbered fleet. A new €1.1 billion credit facility adds flexibility. The airline bought back 7% of its shares and will pay a final dividend of €0.227 in September, subject to AGM approval. A new €750 million buyback is planned. Looking ahead, Ryanair sees strong demand for Summer 2025, with 160+ new routes and capacity focused on regions scrapping aviation taxes. Supply constraints across the industry and Ryanair's low-cost edge are expected to support further growth.
