Apple faces major lawsuit

On Thursday, the stock price of Apple plummeted 4.37% or $7.81. The drop was caused by a major US antitrust lawsuit that accuses the company of monopolizing smartphone markets.

Apple has been known for year to be forcing app developers to use their Apple App Store exclusively and pay the company the commissions charged by the store. The company has been using legal agreements that have forbidden software developers to even offer their products on their own websites.

Currently, The United States Department of Justice and 15 states have sued Apple alleging that it has used the demand for its devices to drive up services prices and hurt rivals.
