GBP/JPY bounces off 154.50 mark

On Tuesday morning, the GBP/JPY currency exchange rate touched the 154.50 level and bounced off it. By the middle of the day, the rate had reached the 50-hour simple moving average near 153.50 and shortly reached below the moving average, before retracing back up to the 154.00 level.

If the currency exchange rate surges, the pair would face the resistance of the 154.00 level and the weekly R1 simple pivot point at 153.95. Higher above, the 154.50 mark could once again act as resistance, before the rate reaches the trend line, which connects the March high levels.

On the other hand, a decline is set to first look for support in the 153.50 mark and the 50-hour simple moving averages. Secondly, the 152.90/153.20 zone is expected to act as support. In the meantime, note the 200-hour simple moving average near 152.80 and the weekly simple pivot point at 152.47.

AUD/USD support at 0.7150/0.7170

The sharp decline of the Australian Dollar against the US Dollar has found support in the 0.7150/0.7170 zone. In addition, the bounce off from the 0.7170 level confirmed that the pair has been declining in a channel down pattern since March 6. A recovery of the AUD/USD rate might encounter resistance at the 0.7200 mark and the weekly S1 at 0.7213.
