Eurozone inflation cooled as expected to 2.2% in November from 2.5% in October, according to data from Eurostat on Friday. Monthly inflation slowed 0.2%. The decrease is largely attributable to a slowdown in energy prices growth to 5.7% year-on-year from 8%. Core inflation, which excludes energy, food, tobacco and alcohol prices, fell from 1.5% in a month earlier to 1.4%, while economists projected the rate to remain steady at 1.5%.

The other report of the statistical office showed the number of people employed declined 0.2% in the Q3 from the second quarter, when it remained unchanged. Employment fell in most sectors, with the largest decline being observed in construction.
