Kiwi reaches 5-week high versus Aussie as house prices rose in New Zealand

The kiwi dollar reached the highest level in five weeks versus the Australian peer as house prices in New Zealand increased at the fastest pace in 5 years last month and card spending rose. The Aussie weakened versus its major counterparts as business confidence fell to the lowest level since 2009. The New Zealand Dollar gained 0.1% to 83.54 U.S. cents after earlier rising to 83.55, the strongest since September 28.
