U.S. CPI rose more than expected in August
Consumer prices in the world's
biggest economy rose more than expected in August, as gasoline prices soared by
9%, the Labor Department said Friday. U.S. CPI jumped to 0.6%, up from 0.0% in the prior
month. Analysts had expected U.S.
inflation rate to rise 0.5% last month.
