Wheat futures grew on better demand from farmers

Rural commodities rallied as traders expect robust China's demand for grains as well as adverse weather conditions in the EU may have hurt the winter crops significantly.

Wheat advanced on the strong demand from livestock producers as they started to use wheat instead of higher-priced corn.

Corn rose on the speculation that rising global demand for US supplies is likely to reduce reserves. On Monday, USDA reported the biggest one-day sale of corn for delivery September 1 to unknown destinations.

Sugar dropped as Brazilian output is expected to increase by 5% in the current marketing season due to favorable weather and replacement of old cane plants.

Coffee was bolstered after the ICO announced a 2.3% drop in global coffee exports in the first half of the current marketing season.
