U.K. stocks advance on rising number of building permits in the U.S.

U.K. stocks surged as the number of building permits in the U.S. rose at a faster pace than analysts forecast pairing with gains in the stocks of Associated British Foods. The FTSE 100 index increased 0.3% to 6,121.96 by 15:29 GMT. All but three sectors in the index edged higher. Consumer services posted second biggest increase, as Associated British Foods Plc. Climbed 5.2% after a report showed a rally in the budget-clothing company's shares. International Consolidated Airlines soared 4.5% after reporting that the firm's Spanish unit has managed to reach an agreement with unions. Aggreko Plc. rose 3.8% also supporting the consumer services sector. Alongside to that, Aberdeen Asset Management tumbled the most by 1.8% to 384.5 pence after a report showed the funds under management have increased 3.3% to 193.4 billion pounds in the last quarter of 2012, as clients switched to Asia. The mining company Polymental International capped further gains in the industrial shares, as its stock lost 1.6%. Randgold Resources slid 1.5% and dragged down basic materials group.
