Unemployment rate of Switzerland in 2012 was among the three lowest figures of the last ten year, when it reached 2.9% following 2.8% the year before, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs has reported. Jobless rate for the last month of 2012 recorded 3.3% with 142,309 unemployed people compared to the Eurozone's equivalent of 11.8% in November.
"Despite a particularly demanding international market environment and the strong franc, the Swiss employment market has managed to hold up pleasantly well over most of the year," Seco noted.
