JPMorgan Chase reported a blowout second quarter for 2026, with net income surging 41% to $21.2 billion and managed revenue rising 27% to $58.0 billion. The record-setting performance was led by the Commercial & Investment Bank, which saw a 35% jump in trading revenue—highlighted by an 86% spike in Equities—and investment banking fees reaching their highest levels since 2021. Additionally, the bank's Wealth Management division crossed $5.1 trillion in assets, while Consumer Banking saw sustained demand for premium credit cards.

Despite this momentum, CEO Jamie Dimon adopted a cautious tone regarding the macro environment. While citing positive tailwinds like AI investment and fiscal stimulus, he warned that "tectonic" risks—including persistent inflation, massive global deficits, and geopolitical instability—require the firm to remain defensive and prepare for various potential economic outcomes.
