U.S. car sales decline amid cold weather

New car sales in the United States plummeted in January, registering the first decrease since September, as cold weather in the country made people to wait for better times to buy a car. Sales were down 3.1% to one million units on the annual basis. General Motors and Ford posted a 12% and 7% drop, respectively, while the third American car maker Chrysler increased sales by 8%.
