Dow up amid improvement in consumer confidence

U.S. blue chips climbed on Tuesday, as consumer confidence rose more than predicted in April. In addition, investors awaited new stimulus programs from central banks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index advanced 0.14% to 14,839.80 points as of 4:14 p.m. New York time. Among the gainers, The Walt Disney Co surged 1.8 to $63.00 and International Business Machines Corp added 1.7% to $202.54. Alongside, Pfizer Inc lost 4.5% to $29.07, as the company issued weaker than expected earnings release. Moreover, the company cut its 2013 profit forecast. Furthermore, Merck&Co Inc dropped 1.7% to $47.00 and Procter&Gamble Co plunged 1.2% to $76.77.

Rubber depreciates on increasing Yen and weak data from China

Rubber futures for October settlement were lower by 1.7% to 259.2 Yen per kilogram on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange in the morning on Wednesday. Commodity futures lost 14% this year. The commodity slides as the Japanese Yen strengthened and China announced weaker than expected manufacturing industry data. Also, crude rubber stockpiles in Japan increased by 2% and reached 15,976 tons on 20th of April.
