The U.S. Dollar rose against the Japanese yen on Monday to its highest level since April 2011 as Sunday's election victory of Japan's conservative Liberal Democratic Party opened the way for further monetary easing in order to lift the economy out of the recession. The so-called greenback advanced 0.3% to 83.70 yen, touching a 20-month high at 84.48 earlier after the election results were published.
