Oil traded close to a one-week low in
New York as an industry-funded report indicated increasing stockpiles in the
U.S., with inventories gaining 1.96 million barrels last week, according to the
American Petroleum Institute. Crude for January settlement traded down 20 cents
at $86.98 a barrel, while Brent January delivery slipped 9 cents to $109.78 a
barrel.
