September was the 1st month to run with a decreased popularity's weight in the evaluation structure. It was set to a maximum of 50 points (instead of 100). Unfortunately, yet, the flow of spam and senseless content is overwhelming.
We remind to all contestants that there is neither no need, nor significant benefit in spamming others with useless comments under the trades or sending annoying private messages. Ultimately, only 42 participants receive any popularity points. Given the fact that comments account for only ~5% of the total score, it it much more effective to concentrate on trading and leave the comments for meaningfull and informative feedback exchange or communication. Moreover, spamming puts you under the risk of disqualification (some of user should have already noticed this measure on themselves).
We are about to start the development of an automatized moderation tool. It assumes that once a user has been reported in spamming (via a special button next to every comment or private message) more than X times, he automatically gets banned for 1 day. Once noticed in spamming for the 2nd time, the disqualification is applied on a permanent basis.
This month the only person receiving extra bonus points from Dukascopy was rahulghosh. The extra 25 points guaranteed him the 1st place in the contest and brought to the main prize. With this bonus we intended to reward the outstanding consistency and determination he has been demonstrating all over the history of his participation the impressive balance results achieved numerous times.
As you may have noticed, the "Live feed" section has been added to your contest profile menus. Adjustments and improvements are still to come, but we expect that it will facilitate following your favourite users' activities in the DFC.
