The New Zealand Dollar failed to gain strength on Monday even despite the strong CPI reading for Q3. As a result, the rate was ranging all session and consequently breached to the previously-drawn ascending channel to the downside.
It is likely that the rate pushes higher during this session just to approach the bottom boundary of the aforementioned channel.
Technical indicators flash mixed signals of the pair's possible direction within the upcoming hours. The base scenario, however, still favours a slight appreciation up to the 0.72 area.
Conversely, the prevalence of the bearish sentiment would pressure the rate down to the 100-hour SMA and the weekly PP circa 0.7143.
