U.K. shares retreat as some major companies decline

U.K. shares dropped after advancing for six straight days, as some major companies tumbled after they published disappointing forecasts. The FTSE 100 Index fell 0.7% to 6,625.43 as of 11:49 London time; however, the benchmark-index jumped 3.5% in the last six days.
