The Greenback weakened against the European Single Currency, following the FOMC Meeting Minutes release on Wednesday at 18:00 GMT. The EUR/USD currency pair gained 19 pips or 0.16% at the time of the release. The whole movement gained 29 pips or 0.25% in 7 minutes after the release. Afterwards, the currency pair depreciated 39 pips or 0.33% in the following 26 minutes after the release to continuing fluctuation in the 1.15area.
The Federal Reserve released FOMC Meeting Minutes news release during which were discussed important economic aspects such as inflation rate, wage growth, unemployment rate, trade and tariff issues, fiscal policy and neutral rate.
The chairman at Hugh Johnson Advisors, Hugh Johnson said: "I think the number one thing is there weren't any surprises in the minutes and it looks as though to me, after they mentioned all the upside and downside risks or exposures, that they're likely to raise interest rates in September and I don't think anyone is going to come away with a different view. "
