  • Introduction.
On 31st July this year Dukascopy Bank announced on the main page in news section that has received a Securities Dealer License, issued by FINMA, and therefore will extend the scope of financial instruments offered on its trading platforms with CFD instruments (Contract for Difference) on a wide range (about 200) of underlying assets, like major indices, stocks and commodities which are programmed to be lunched soon.
Having this in mind and the fact that I have 3 years experience in CFD trading, I have decided to write this article which is the first in a long series that will come, having as main topic CFDs and everything that you need to know about them. In this article I will present basics like what are CFDs?, why they exist? ,trading possibilities and some main advantages.

3. The minimum margin requirement is very low comparing to a traditional aquisition of stocks or future contracts which will require you to have all the margin and a very big account in order to do that. With CFDs you only need to deposit 5-10 % for shares and 1 % for indices. See the example at Potential Return section above.!!
4. CFDs are also tax eficient , are exempt from stamp duty which applies in UK
5.CFDs have very low commision and it is very cheap to trade them which find them very attractive for the little investor.

ELLIOTT WAVE PERSPECTIVE EUR / AUD were moving in a bullish direction since mid-July 2012 and up until early February 2013. There is reason to be concerned because the area around 1.3190 seems to contain resistance, which recently put an end to the bullish trend. Where many indicators can be Incorrect, Elliott Wave offers a solution as I will demonstrate in this article. This article is not one of the longest of its kind but will include important aspects of Elliott Wave. Below is a three-day candle chart of the EUR / AUD with an analysis that follows. It is always important to take a look at the bigger picture before deciding which direction you want to place your positions, and this is true whether one uses Elliott Wave or not.As one can see above there was a nice five wave down move which ended near the area of 1.1600 and confirmed a bottom. None of the rules were broken as we had at least one extension and wave 4 did not overlap wave 2. After that the price interestingly reached all the way up to the region of 1.3190. The move from 1.1600 to 1.3190 did form a so called “zigzag pattern” which also is known as a simple correction. This move is also what is shown as wave 2 (white)…

I'm with Efegen, I never quite understood EW, and in the few times I tried to use it (years ago) I made a complete mess :)) However, I know people who use EW very successfully, so I guess the problem is me. Good article!

INTRODUCTION We are required (as traders) to make a lot of research, study, analysis, test new strategies or improve our favorite ones. But the most important thing required is the ability to make the correct correlations between fundamental changes, technical study, and our perception about prices. This explain in few words why trading is not simple! QUANTITATIVE EASINGIt's an unconventional monetary policy used by central banks to stimulate the national economy when conventional monetary policy has become ineffective. A central bank buys financial assets to inject a pre-determined quantity of money into the economy. A simple explanation of what happens with a QE is found in BOE's website where in a quick 'cartoon' they explain the meaning about this important topic.Main QE program was introduced by the Federal Reserve in November 2008 after market's heavy crash in previous months. I decided to study the evolution of markets since that date, because there are some interesting facts happening. DOW JONES INDUSTRIAL AVERAGE (DJIA)Founded in 1896, this stock market index shows how 30 U.S. large publicly owned companies have traded during a standard session. The index is composed for …

Stocks are correlated with AUD because they are both "risk-on" investments, same as with other typical high interest rate currencies NZD, MXN, ZAR, PLN, RUB... When the sentiment is negative investors look for safe-havens, so stocks and riskier currencies usually go down, CHF and JPY go up, German and American bonds go up as well. There are basically 2 types of instruments: risk-on and risk-off, and within each group the instruments are more or less positively correlated with each other, and negatively correlated with the other group. Correlations can and do change though :)

just an update about DJ30IA: price found reject near previous top 13300 and back under 13000 while writing this comment. UsdX bullish behavior, while AUD USD going down together with DJIA leading the move together with EU and GU. Quite a bearish scenario just behind the corner. Will be very interesting to see if the FED will react soon after seeing pressure increasing....
