The Canadian Dollar was trading against the Hong Kong Dollar in a one month long ascending channel. However, an intensive appreciation of the Loonie two weeks ago shifted the currency rate closer to the upper edge of the channel. Thus, the pair has gradually entered into a rising wedge pattern and in accordance with technical theory it is expected to break out downwards. The only question remains, whether the rate will bounce off from the combined support level set up by the pattern' s support line and the weekly PP at 6.0477 or break through this barrier straightway. In the first case, it is projected to climb to the weekly R1 at 6.0962 one more time and only after that start to fall. In the second case, it will try to slip though the 55-period SMA and the weekly S1 at 6.0207 by inertia.
