The British Pound is trading against the American Dollar in the short-term ascending channel. The pattern started to form shortly after the Sterling lost 225 basis points after the announcement of results of the UK parliamentary elections on June 8. At the present moment, the rate is located at the center of the channel, which has two confirmations from above and only one confirmation from the bottom, and is gradually moving downwards. Since there are no notable support levels on its way, the pair most likely will succeed to reach to bottom trend line of the channel for the second time. This scenario will become even more possible if the data on UK retail sales released today will not meet analysts' expectations.
