Whitbread delivered a strong third-quarter performance in FY26, supported by positive trading momentum in both the UK and Germany. Total Group sales rose 2% to £781 million, driven by higher accommodation sales across Premier Inn UK and Premier Inn Germany, partially offset by lower UK food and beverage sales due to the company's strategy of converting lower-return restaurants into hotel extensions.

In the UK, market demand continued to improve, with accommodation sales up 2% and RevPAR rising 3%. Premier Inn maintained a strong RevPAR premium versus the midscale and economy market, supported by brand strength and commercial initiatives. Food and beverage sales declined as expected under the Accelerating Growth Plan. In Germany, performance was particularly strong, with accommodation sales up 12% in local currency and RevPAR rising 7%, significantly outperforming the wider market as the estate matures and demand improves.



Trading momentum continued into the current period, with UK accommodation sales and RevPAR both up 4%, and Germany accommodation sales up 11%. Whitbread increased its FY26 cost efficiency target to £75–£80 million, reflecting further savings across labour, technology, and procurement. Progress on the Accelerating Growth Plan remains strong, alongside disciplined capital allocation through hotel sale-and-leaseback transactions and an ongoing £250 million share buyback.

Looking ahead, Whitbread reaffirmed its FY26 guidance and remains confident in the full-year outlook. The company slightly lowered its estimate for the impact of UK business rate changes in FY27 and will provide an update to its Five-Year Plan when it reports FY26 preliminary results in April 2026.
