The American Dollar is trading against the Swiss Franc in the medium-term descending channel. The pattern started to form after the Greenback has lost 294 pips for five trading days in the middle of previous month. At the present moment, the pair is approaching the upper trend-line of the channel, being squeezed between the 100-period SMA from the top and 55-period SMA from the bottom. Most likely the strength of the channel will be large enough to force the rate to make a rebound. On the other hand, the massive release of US fundamental data today might easily drive the pair through the upper boundaries of the formation, at least in the short run.
