Wall Street shares closed higher on Wednesday with the benchmark indexes the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones reaching historical highs as companies from Apple Inc. to Hewlett-Packard showed their earnings boosting the markets up. The Dow Jones industrial average added 0.15% to 16,097.33, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index jumped 0.25% to 1,807.23 and the Nasdaq Composite Index gained 0.67% to 4,044.75.
