Sterling fueled by positive PMI services

Pound jumped versus the greenback as strong construction and manufacturing report from Britain was posted. The Sterling gained 0.45% to $1.5354 versus the U.S. currency and added 0.34% to 0.8655 against the Euro, and remained steady at 151.12 versus the Japanese Yen. U.K. services advanced for the seventh month in July, as PMI increased to 60.2 last month, overshooting analysts forecast of 57.3.

Europe shares advance for a sixth straight day

European shares rose for a sixth straight day, the longest streak of gains yearly, as services output decreased at a slower pace than expected. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index climbed 0.5% to 305.62 as of 10:24 a.m. London time, the strongest level in approximately 10 weeks. The equity-benchmark advanced 1.8% previous week.
