The Japanese government led by the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe raised its monetary easing budget for the this fiscal year by $53 billion in order to support the economy as the nation increases its sales tax next year, the Ministry of Finance reported on Thursday. The supplementary budget totaling 5.46 trillion yen is adding to the previous extra budget sizing 13.1 trillion yen, while the fiscal year 2013/14 government spending rose to 98.1 trillion yen.
