Emerging-market equities advanced on Thursday rising to the highest level in two weeks as investors were optimistic about a new debt limit agreement between the U.S. President Barack Obama and congressional lawmakers to avoid a default. The MSCI Emerging Markets Index gained 0.7% to 1,013.08 as of 10 a.m. New York time, mainly due to an increase of Polish lenders.
