Chinese shares rose on Monday finishing the best quarter in a
three-year period mainly due to an increase of consumer discretionary
and technology companies before the markets closed for the nation's
week-long holidays. The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.7% to 2,174.67
at close, while the Hang Seng China Enterprise Index fell 1.6% and the
CSI 300 Index jumped 0.6% to 2,409.04.
