Year over year, producer prices increased by 2.7% in September, whereas economists expected that the index would witness a slightly lower reading of 2.6%. In August, producer prices inflation was also equal to 2.7%. The total inflation was considerably driven by a 7% jump in energy prices, while inflation excluding energy sector witnessed a reading of only 1.2%
