UK's real GDP decreases

In May 2025, the UK's real GDP fell by 0.1%, following a 0.3% drop in April and a revised 0.4% rise in March. Despite the monthly decline, GDP grew by 0.5% in the three months to May compared with the previous three months, mainly due to growth in the services sector.



Services output edged up by 0.1% in May after falling 0.3% in April, and rose 0.4% over the three-month period. Production output dropped by 0.9% in May, following a 0.6% fall in April, but still grew by 0.2% over three months. Construction output decreased by 0.6% in May, after rising 0.8% in April. However, it increased by 1.2% in the three months to May.
