Dollar Tree has agreed to sell its Family Dollar business to Brigade and Macellum for $1.007 billion, with the sale expected to close in about 90 days, pending approval. The company expects to net around $804 million from the sale, along with tax benefits of about $350 million. For the fourth quarter of fiscal 2024, Dollar Tree reported a loss of $17.17 per share, but made a profit of $1.86 per share from continuing operations. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) were $2.29, including earnings from both continuing and discontinued operations (Family Dollar).



Dollar Tree saw a 2.0% increase in same-store sales, driven by higher customer traffic and larger purchases. The company opened 33 new stores in Q4, bringing the total number of new openings for fiscal 2024 to 525. They now have nearly 2,900 stores using their Dollar Tree 3.0 multi-price format. For fiscal 2025, Dollar Tree expects net sales between $18.5 billion and $19.1 billion and adjusted EPS between $5.00 and $5.50, with a small negative impact from the Family Dollar transition. In Q1 of fiscal 2025, they expect net sales of $4.5 to $4.6 billion and adjusted EPS between $1.10 and $1.25.
