At the start of Wednesday's European trading, the stock price for Carrefour dropped by 5.25% or 0.88 EUR.

The value was lost due to the French billionaire Bernard Arnault selling the company's stock after being invested for 14 years. Arnault held a 5.7% stake in the company, which by being sold has flooded the market with shares.
