USA 500 index reveals resistance line

On January 19, the USA 500 stock index broke the channel up pattern, which captured a surge since late 2020. Afterwards, the index retreated to the 50.00% Fibonacci retracement level of the 2021 high and low levels. Most recently, on February 1, the stock index bounced off the resistance line, which connects the 2022 high levels. Meanwhile, it was spotted that the 200-day simple moving average recently was acting both as resistance and support.

In the near term future, the index was expected to be squeezed in between the descending resistance line and the 200-day simple moving average.

If the rate breaks the resistance of the trend line, the stocks could encounter resistance in the 4,600.00 mark and the 50-day simple moving average, before approaching 4,700.00. On the other hand, a passing below the 200-day SMA could result in the index once again reaching the 50.00% Fibonacci retracement level at 4,239.50.
