The common European currency has been guided by two opposite channels against the Swiss Franc. The most important of the pattern is the two months descending channel formed on May 8.
After retesting the upper boundary of the downtrend channel, the exchange rate reversed south. The pair was stranded between SMAs at the time of this analysis. The 55-hour simple moving average was providing resistance at 1.1651 while the 200-hour SMA was providing support for the rate near the 1.1590 mark.
Given that a breakout had occurred through the lower boundary of an ascending channel, the currency exchange rate could be set for a long-term decline.
