Amazon Delivers Strong 2025 Results on AI-Led Growth

Amazon reported strong results for the fourth quarter and full year 2025, driven by solid growth across its businesses and heavy investment in AI and infrastructure. Q4 net sales rose 14% to $213.4 billion, while net income increased to $21.2 billion, despite special charges. For the full year, sales grew 12% to $716.9 billion and net income climbed to $77.7 billion. Operating cash flow improved, but free cash flow fell sharply due to a major increase in capital spending focused on AI.



AWS led growth with sales up 24% in Q4, marking its fastest expansion in over three years, while North America and international segments also posted higher revenue and improved profitability. CEO Andy Jassy emphasized that AI innovation is central to Amazon's strategy, highlighting strong demand for AWS custom chips, new AI models and agents, and consumer tools like the Rufus shopping assistant and the new Alexa+ subscription. Operationally, Amazon achieved record-fast delivery speeds, major Prime Video viewership milestones, and unveiled new satellite internet technology. Looking ahead, the company expects Q1 2026 sales of $173.5–$178.5 billion, factoring in higher costs tied to scaling its satellite program.
