Federal reserve cuts as expected

On December 18th federal reserve decided to cut rates by 0.25% basis points, reducing interest rates to 4.50%. Also, Federal reserve provided guidance for the year 2025.

The Federal Reserve's third rate cut of the year will affect debt, savings, auto loans, mortgages, and other borrowing for consumers and businesses. However, with inflation still high and concerns about President-elect Trump's policies, the Fed plans to cut rates more slowly in 2025. It now expects two cuts next year, down from four predicted in September.

As a result, borrowers may be disappointed, as rates may not drop much if the Fed only cuts twice. Fed is set to keep interest rates within 4.25%-4.50% range for the year 2025.
