The attached file has a Converter parse exception.
Thanks for looking at it.
I do not have an mq5 environment in which to test this, but I understand the code should be OK.
Could not upload extension mq5 so renamed and added .txt to filename extension for the upload.

Original mql5 file will not compile because of differences between C and Java. These differences are rare and require a lot of work to circumvent. Slightly modified file 3rdGenMA.mq5 is in the attachment.

Thanks !! I placed the *.mq5 file you provided, into the Indicators folder.
But, in the JForex platform when I choose Custom Indicators / Open Indicator, it seems to filter out the .mq5 file type, but does show .mq4 file types present in the Indicators folder.
Is this normal? What's the procedure for attempting to use an mq5 file type to compile a custom indicator?
Demo platform v2.28.2 JForex API ver. 2.9.4
