I do not think they would give extra points to "up" down" "buy" whatever. That doesn't tell any one anything that the platform doesn't already do. They are looking for some details like skytraders, or others.
That being said, people have won in the past with very little commentary. If there were a tie though, the one with the commentary would win hands down. All this is just my opinion though.

If one checks the list of participants we've ever granted with additional bonus points, you'll never see "Good luck"-style comments on their feeds.
Obviously, we cannot ban otherwise successful participants merely on the basis of poor comments and such measures have never been announced. However, we always stressed that the absence of good reasoning is surely a way to deprive yourself from receiving bonus points in the final evaluation.
You may have noticed in that in the November competition we've awarded bonus points to the trader StevenSeagal exactly for his consistent and informative justifications. Especially in comparison to the senseless comments of "nickel01" who occupied the 2nd position prior to the evaluation.
