I think one thing the contest should do is remove avatars. Trades done with posters that have female avatars get much much more comments than people without avatars. This distorts the popularity score.

The profile pictures are an integral element of the "social" part of the Forex community. And the further we move, the more information the traders will be able to share with each other. That goes in line with our intention to attach more social functions to the community.

Ya, but some people have pictures of supermodels that aren't them. The main thing that determines the amount comments per trade is someone's profile picture and whether or not that picture is of a hot chick. And it makes a very huge difference in comments per trade. Just look at the people that have the most comments per trade and their profile picture. That's the main correlation I find in determining how many comments per trade someone gets.

People comment the trades not the pictures. avatar can be anything, there is no hard and fast rule for the same. if the visitor likes the trades, they comment. if not leave it. no super model helps except the performance of the trader. if visitors come to see only the super model, they google instead of visiting the trader's blog. don't get tensed!

I'm just drawing on the fact that the people who have the MOST comments per trade are ones who have for their avatar a female photo. I'm just saying, to make the contest more fair. The avatars should straight up be removed. I struggle to get 2 comments per trade. Yet people like Elena, Win007 get 10+ easily, and I'm 99% sure it has to do with their avatar photo and not their reasoning(cause the only reasoning win007 uses is "for reaction").

Dear rahulkghosh,

As you might have noticed, both ELENA_M and Win007 participate in the contest from the beginning of the year and have already become recognizable in the community. For instance, Elena has always been quite active generally in terms of communication. That long-term popularity now builds up into more people visiting the profile, more comments and more votes, which is totally normal. Even more, that is part of the contest's concept (the "social" side), as you can see it from the popularity hints of the recommendations section (https://www.dukascopy.com/tradercontest/ ... mendations).

Im with you Hulkghost ...... it's kinda not fair ... i only get 2-3 comments for my trades...

+ i want to add something ... I think the popularity points must be fixed...

the only way to gain many popularity points is to be in top 10 at the very start so people can see you in the left top10 ranking

no other way... couse so many people are trading in the contest and the blog is spaming with "scalps" more of the valueable people who really give good comments cant find the good trades.... they see only scalps ...

I hope you can understand me if not write me so i can write better explaination.

Thanks.

that sounds great in theory but in practice I cannot help but notice right now at this moment there is a player in rank 43 with balance 85k. Clearly this is slightly unbalanced. You say you want traders but you reward gamblers whether or not they gain if they are popular

I would like to make a suggestion to Dukascopy staff.

Why you guys dont make something like filter in the blog or something better than Biggest profit ...

So other people that are not in top 10 from the start of the month can benefit too from this popularity points..

My point of view is this because..

When the month starts the first people who start to gain profits take the places and the people who gain many popularity points are the people listed in the TOP 10 In Left... or the cheaters...

fix it if you understand me.

for example: i have 2 -3 very good trades and only spammers comment on them ROFL   but if i was on this top 10 list i will have 10-20 coments and votes... so only the people in the list benefit it's kinda not fair

I decide that I will only focus on improving my trading skills instead of working on popularity. I will update my blogs for this purpose only. No more marketing for me to get higher position. It just does not make sense to have a higher position with poor performance.

The solution will be released within one week. All avatars will be reflected correctly
