Hi,
Is there any chance in the next period, 2-3 months, to have a genetic optimizer instead this simple one for JForex? Currently I am getting old using this optimizer which do the things using all possible combinations. Genetic method will make us much more happy.
Thank you.

I'd rather implement my own optimizer through the API. Because you don't know what they are doing to the algorithm. It's better transparency for JForex to just be plain but robust.
Just my two cents.

Just my two cents. This means I should not trust in their algorithm ? The genetic optimizer is a must, especially for multipairs strategy optimization. We should trust in it, why not ? It is in interes for both parties Dukascopy & developers. You know what is written on any US dollar banknote: "In God We Trust."

I just find it more convenient if I have control over my programs. I like to tweak things. That's just my approach.
We have different style, that's all.
However, I do agree with you that the optimizer can do with some improvements.

Quote: I'd rather implement my own optimizer through the API. quantisan, what do you exactly mean? Using @Library inside the platform to link to external code? Or do you have other ways to run external code? Were you referring to this specific option? thanks in advance.

I don't want to sound mean or anything but I find JForex's tester rather amusing compared to MT5's tester.
I know MT's data cannot be trusted but at least I can get my results within an hour compared to months I'll have to wait for a test in JTrader. I mean I cannot even complete 20 optimization passes it takes literally forever.
Dukascopy are you telling me you cannot do any better than the current tester?

a feature request ticket has been generated, so they're developing a solution for it. P.S. @Saidar, I'm not stalking you
