The decline in commodity prices led to a fall in Australian trade balance in April of 2014, which turned to be negative. The deficit reached $122 million, while economists waited for a $510 million surplus. The result follows a revised $902 million surplus a month ago. During April, exports decline 1%, while imports rose 2%. Moreover, the prices of coal and iron ore dropped as well.
