British Pound depreciates actively - Expert Commentary - Dukascopy Bank

Since Thursday, December 17, the British Pound has been depreciating actively against the US Dollar. The GBP/USD exchange rate has already lost 2.96%.  

It is likely that there are many reasons for the predetermined decline. The first reason might be a possibility that no agreement could be reached in the EU-UK trade talks in the nearest future. 

The second reason might be the British government's decision to bring new higher tier of coronavirus restriction for London and southeast England. 

The third reason could be a news that various countries decided to close borders to the UK due to new coronavirus breed.
