Hi Everyone,

I have designed a strategy based on Support and Resistance Levels. The problem is, there is no way to "calculate" these levels as they are discretionary. So is there any way to program into Visual JForex that at the start of each trading day, the backtester asks me to enter the 6 variables (which I have set to Global=True . This of course will ask me at the beginning of the back test, but then they are final. So Either I set the backtest period for 1 day every time and then enter the variable values manually, or there is a way to automate this? :-)

thanks again.

Balazs

Hi

As far as i can see and with available blocks of VJF this can't be done.
However, this can be achieved using JForex API with java not in a easy way because we don't have methods to pause/continue strategy i believe. One way can be a keyboard shortcut event that enables a variable change interface of the strategy.

Regards

JL

Hi there,

I assume that you used S&R indicator in visual Jforex and you wish to input a manual levels instead of the computed ones..am I correct ?? If this is correct, this simply means that you need to input at the beginning of each trading day a custom level, the problem here is that the strategy needs to be stopped and restarted so that the new levels will be considered unless you have a concrete idea about the way they are calculated and therefore an automated implementation would be possible.

Cheers
