Hi,

I have several MT4 EA's that I would like to move to Jforex.
From what I have read so far the MQL converter sounds like it may or may not work.
I am no coder and it took my a while to build up my knowledge of MQL4.
I am prepared to learn java and use NetBeans if necessary to rewrite my EA, but what I am wondering is, should I give Visual Jforex a go first? I don't want to waste time learning visual jforex if at the end of the day it provides too many limitations.
If you start writing the strategy using visual EA can I then tweak the code in Netbeans if necessary, and then reopen in visual jforex, or will there be compatibility issues?

What are the constraints of visual jforex?

thanks

Hi,

Don't be afraid to give the converter a try. Support is fixing almost every reported bug about the converter, so if your EAs using codes that are not (yet) converted fine, you can expect an update.

It is possible to generate java code out from the Visual JForex strategy. I am not using Visual JForex, but that is one of the features for sure. Ask in the Visual forum for ups and downs (if there is any) about the generated java code.

And at last but not least, if you have experience with mq4, start with java based strategies directly. I use myself Eclipse, but Netbeans is probably that good too.
The Knowledge base is the forum where you can ask question, if you stuck somewhere. Normally within 1 or 2 days you get a reply mainly from Support itself, but there are probably other users out there who have experienced the same issues and have solutions.
Also the wiki contains tons of examples.

Good luck!
