I understand that maximim alow quantity it will be limited at 5.000.000 for one position?
This is normal when you start the contest, with 100.000 virtual USD, but when you reach 400.000 or 500.000 USD, i think is normal to be able to trade more than 5.000.000 in one trade...

Hope to win the contest, i trade in my real account only eur/usd, and i like it very much.

We intend to introduce a common standard and constrain "gambling", which some participant. The amount was decided upon the analysis of contest statistics for the previous month. 5 mio appeared to be a good compromise. According to the statistics on the average lot size, it is absolutely sufficient for most of the traders. Moreover, arriving to equity amount of 400.000, 500.000 etc. will be more challenging with limited lots.

Maybe, we can limit the Quantity by use a lower leverage..
For example, use leverage 1:50, so if we have 100.000 of balance, we can trade 5 million..
Because, if we limit the quantity on 5 million, it will influence the trader's strategy...

For now, the maximum lot size has been set to 5 mio as decided upon the analysis from the previous month. Further adjustments may be made in the future.

I, by mistake I opened 6 Lot , in this way

1 GBP / USD
1 NDZ / cad
2 eur / chf
2 GBP / CHF

will be disqualified?
or the 6 lot will not be counted?

I am happy with 5 million. If I have a real account at Dukascopy in amount from 100k to 1 million USD, I would not trade so much money. I would prefer trade longer timeframes with reasonable money.

However I understand that for competition it could more for people who made 400k USD or more from 100k USD. Threshold could be on 10 millions maybe. I think Dukascopy should let it on contestants opinion - and I think we all agree that if someone reached 400k during competition, than it is pure hazard to switch to large amounts over 5 million - it is almost sure way of ending in a loss sooner or later - of course, I understand, competition probably ends before "later", so people want to take risk.

if trading sums over 5 million would kill more people on first places so that it would be bigger turnover on first 10 places or if it widens the gap among first places and the rest of contestants - maybe if you have luck, and once you get into top 10, during first week, then you stay there and end with tens of millions USD after one month.

Currently we consider that the 5 mio limitation is adequate for the contest specifics.

5 mio limit is more than enough . Biger size possitions will encourage scalpers and also gamblers.

That is exactly the logic behind the decision.

Being realistic, a negligible share of traders open >5 mio positions on Live. Hence, allowing those trades in the contest would have little connection to reality. Instead, it would provoke over-leveraged trading and, as was correctly told, gambling.
