I'm having trouble when running historical tester. It begins to run normaly, but freezes as if it was waiting candles datas and doesn't go further not even is possible to stop the historical tester.

I had already run this historical test before and it was ok. On Saturday it just stopped running properly. I deleted cache files, downloaded JForex again, restarted my computer and it remains the same.

Could you help me please?

Thanks.

Eduardo.

Check the Java Console messages for errors.

There are no error messages. Historical tester just stand still as if nothing is happening. It seems to be waiting candles to be sent.

Thanks.

What version of the platform do you use?
How many instruments are activated in Historical Tester?

Talking about instruments, I'm testing just one, but I had already tested multple instruments and historical tester ran ok.

Thanks.

Hi,

Quote:
My Project is still not working.

So you are using the JForex SDK? This hasn't been mentioned before...
It doesn't really matter, as the SDK should work fine also, but now I think it would be wise if you give as much details about your 'project', as possible.
Could you post the project files itself? That would help a lot.
Do you use an IDE for your project?
There are some well documented wiki pages, where it is described how to setup the SDK in an IDE. For example this for Eclipse:
https://www.dukascopy.com/wiki/#Use_in_Eclipse

API update is not that difficult, but I agree it could have been easier. But an update is not essential, as older version should work fine (with some bugs, of course).
Take a look on the following topic, where it is described how to update the API: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=49535&p=72817&hilit=update+maven#p72817

This is for a start.

Ok, here it goes.
I'm using sdk with Eclipse. But I think that doesn't matter at all, becouse my Project always runs ok from Eclipse with on-line bars, but historical tester with JForex plaform is instable: some times works well and fast and some times just doesn't work, it seems like it's waiting for candles to be formed.

Today I'm experiencing another trouble, a new one. When I try to compile my strategy, JForex displays "Compiling XXXXX.java" and just doesn't go further. It's not completing compilation process anymore. I had closed JForex several times, exported jar files countless times and JForex compilation process just stands still.

Thank you for your atention.

Hi,

I am just only guessing what could be wrong...

Try to run an empty strategy in the historical tester, and see if that works fine.
Try to select less instruments in the historical tester. Let's start with only 1, and see if that works.

Could you post the strategy that is not compiling?

Hello!
I could post my strategy but it would be worthless becouse it uses several classes within a .jar file.
I'm already testing just one intrument.
I'll try to run an empty strategy to see if it works or not.

Thanks for the tips.

I'm just guessing why API Support is not answering my posts as well...

I had just tested compiling an empty strategy. It also doesn't work. Console shows the message "Compiling Strategy.java" and stops there.

I have tested compiling na empty strategy without obfuscating and it worked. It means that obfuscation process within JForex is not working properly.
