Hello. I would like to ask if August article contest will be extended for one more month or not? We have more then 100 participants, but not all of them uploaded any article. Thanks you in advance.

As you've probably already seen, we've released some amendments regarding the length of a contest period. It's now limited to one month irrespective of the number of participants. However, unless the number of active participants reaches 100, the prizes will be awarded only partially. The invitation to Geneva Forex event is as well made only in case the contest month was finalized fully, i.e. with >100 active participants.

I think the decision about the new prize money pool was poorly made and done disrespectfully without regard to the effort and opinions of the contestants. Prior to this, Dukascopy had been informing participants in all competitions about new rules well in advance of the start of each month, not 3 days before a month ends. The only rule that was mentioned regarding the number of participants had to do with whether the competition would be extended to the following month. It did not mention anything about changing the prize money pool. If rules are created, they should be respected by both parties in all aspects without prejudice to anyone. It would be a sad precedent for this to be done in this way, undermining the prestige of Dukascopy and all of its competitions up to this point.

Is there a middle ground solution? Let us know exactly why this rule is now being changed. Can it be done instead for the September competition when everybody would be in agreement without any misunderstandings? Persons finishing 7th-10th places would be much worse of since the new allocation would be very small.Could that prize money be increased to be the same for 4th to 6th places?

What do you mean by Active Participant, is it like Participant? Like we need >100 registered participant to close the month or we need >100 participant to actively write and manage article?
