Hi,

I'm trying to optimize my strategy parameters by using the Historical Tester (performance mode). I've selected ~50 000 parameter combinations and after a while I get an Out of Memory error in the Java Web Start log. Currently I'm using 2GB of Java heap.

- Does the optimizer support "unlimited" amount of combinations if I have enough Java heap? Or is there a defined max number of combinations? Or does it depend on the amount of Java heap?

- Or should I run them manually in chunks of, e.g., 10 000 combinations?

- Or can I inform the tool to run in chunks so that I can skip the manual work?


All in all, what I'm asking is: how should I work with the tool with limited amount of Java heap. I have 4GB RAM at the moment. I can upgrade to 16GB, but I guess that even 16GB could be too little for some configurations...
