First, I would like to say that I am new to the JForex platform, so I might miss some point regarding indicator calculation. If that is the case, please guide me kindly in the right direction.

Based on this wiki page (https://www.dukascopy.com/wiki/#Indicator_Calculation/Candlestick_price_feed), there are 4 basic ways to calculate and indicator in a strategy, namely: by shift, by candle interval, by time interval, and by time interval with filter.

Which one of the above is the used calculated method for an indicator that I put on a chart manually (not from a strategy) on the platform?

And an even more newbie question probably: should these calculation methods give the same result (consider using the same number of candles, same time intervals, etc).

Thanks in advance.
