Only a few weeks back I started getting an error message "18:53:11 Cannot enable indicator PIVOT: indicator does not support data type TICK_BAR" when I tried to add the Pivot indicator to a 70 tick chart. Any idea what the problem is? Perhaps an incompatibility with build 2.7.2? It worked flawless before.

First of all it is not tick, rather a tick bar chart. This is a design restriction, because pivot indicator works only with time-period-aggregation and tick charts.

since this morning suddenly all my pivot indicators do not function with range bars.
There is a notification in Java konsole ;

I have new java version already installed.

maybe problem due to new java version?

The pivot indicator works only with time-period-aggregation and tick charts.

This is not true.I have been using all pivot idicators from hourly to weekly with 4 pips range bars since more than a year.
Since this morning i opened my platform and I saw there were no pivot indicator on my template which i always use.
I saw in java konsole this notification first time ( i always check java konsole when i open my platform)

so this is a definitly new failure maybe due to new java version.
please make a detailed investigation or ask other team members about it.
I used to trade only with this range bars and with pivots so i would like that it works again as it was until today.

We have removed a pivot indicator support for range bars it due to it did not make any sense.
The pivot indicator can work only with time-period-aggregation and tick charts.

It took a few posts to learn that you have implemented this "design restriction" only recently.

Is there a clever way to overcome this restriction, for example by having a tick bar chart which shows the Pivot points of a 1-minute chart, i. e. through a kind of overlay?

I dont know what you mean it did not make sense but pivot indicators show the same levels as on time-period-aggregation charts.I ask kindly if it is not a big issue for you please continue to support pivot for range bars.

I find it amazing that none of the support people bother to reply! I guess they have better things to do than answering questions from their clients.

The restriction has been lifted with JForex-API 2.7.3.
